Long-term outcomes in children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome: a single center experience
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose: Idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS) is a common glomerular disease observed in children. Depending on their response to steroids, patients can be classified either as having steroid-sensitive (SSNS) or steroid-resistant (SRNS). Whereas SSNS respond favorably steroid treatment and achieve complete remission with normal renal functions, SRNS do not, are at high risk of developing end-stage diseases (ESRD). The aim this study was analyze the long-term outcomes INS.
Materials Methods: In our medical center, records children diagnosed INS were evaluated. Demographic information, laboratory results, treatment, clinical progression analyzed.
 Result: Ninety-one (64% male) mean age 11.1±4.1 years (3.5-18) included patient cohort, diagnosis 5.2±3.8 (1-16.2) follow-up period 5.7±2.8 (2-12). Sixty-eight (75%) had SSNS, 23 (25%) SRNS. Among patients, 18 (31%) steroid-dependent, 12 (20%) frequently relapsing, 29 (49%) infrequently relapsing. Renal biopsy performed (32%) 59% focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. rate 94% for all 100% 74% ESRD developed 9% SRNS.
Conclusion: serves valuable prognostic indicator it plays pivotal role mitigating toward failure.

INTRODUCTION Immunosuppressive agents are recommended for the management of children with steroid-resistant, frequently-relapsing, and steroid-dependent idiopathic nephrotic syndrome, i.e., SRNS, FRNS, and SDNS. This study evaluated the efficacy of immunosuppressive agents in these cases. METHODS This is a retrospective analysis of the records of 130 pediatric cases recruited from a tertiary-...
